Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ages: 5 – 8 years
My kids love visiting Grandma! Not only is it a fun break from the ordinary, Grandma’s always got time, love and cookies…lots and lots of cookies.
Unfortunately for our family, Grandma doesn’t live close by, so trips to Grandma’s house are always an “event.” I worried for a long time that my kids wouldn’t have the same close, loving relationship with their grandmother that I had with mine.
Despite the always-full cookie jar, distance does define a relationship.
So, what was I going to do if I couldn’t move my family closer together? I started planning “just kids” trips so that Grandma could have a little one-on-one time with her grandchildren. It was a big hit, and it’s now a yearly tradition.
My kids’ favorite part about their annual trip (besides Grandma, of course)?
All the crazy and fun ideas they’ve stolen out of Jean Reagan’s, How to Babysit a Grandma.
A great book for kids to bond over and share with their grandmothers, How to Babysit a Grandma is a delightfully fun “how to” book that offers lots of ideas to keep kids and their grandmothers alike entertained for hours.
So, how do you babysit a grandma?
