I have totally fallen in love with this series of Bear Brigade books that teaches young children lessons about life!
Lost in the Woods encourages children to be safe and teaches the importance of being prepared when going through the woods.
The words rhyme and flow without fault, making it an ideal read-out-loud story with nearly every single illustration a stand-out.
Hopefully, the next one in the series is on the ‘’dangers’’ of not keeping your room tidy! 😊
Lost in the Woods is a fantastic book in the series of Bear Brigade books that teaches children practical life lessons without coming across as preachy. Children will be engaged from the first to the very last page!
Much of the detail is told through the illustrations. Make sure to observe everything that is happening on each page.
We are introduced to The Great Bear Brigade on the very first page.
‘’The Great Bear Brigade has lots of stories to share. Once you read their adventures then you’ll be aware … Of life lessons to learn and how to take care. They will help you live smart and always beware.’’
Three siblings are shown walking through the woods. The youngest runs ahead and gets lost. Although we can see they are looking for each other, they can’t hear each other calling out.
‘’You should always think twice before climbing trees …. ‘’
The little boy is seen climbing a dangerously high tree where he comes across a bee hive. The Bear Brigade come to the rescue!
The bears have some important advice such as telling someone where you’re going, taking a map, having a plan to get home and knowing the directions.
Jason Kutasi has written an easy to read, flowing story that’s perfect for reading out loud. Illustrator Javier Gimenez Ratti has once again, produced stand-out illustrations that keep kids wanting more.
In a book that will engage children from the first to the very last page, Lost in the Woods is a fantastic book in the series of Bear Brigade books that teaches children practical life lessons without coming across as preachy.
